Americans like this guy make me determined never to buy ANY American products ever again if I can help it. And booze is one US thing I can certainly do without. Their beer has always been watery piss. Wines from Italy and France have much more appeal to me than plonk from New York or California. And as for liquor, bourbon I can do without since we have many other Canadian sources and micro distilleries .

Americans seem to have an attitude that they're the best and nobody can do without them. Well... FAFO!

I loved the threat of 50% tariffs on Canadian alcohol, those idiots still haven’t worked out, they pay for the tariff.

Elbows up from Australia

You can put it back on the shelf but "we the people" decide to buy or leave it where it belongs "on the shelf"..

I will never buy their booze again! I’m a petty bitch! 🤣 Republicans created this mess, and I have the memory of an elephant.

vieux loup's avatar

We will get along because I love a petty bitch. Check out https://www.youtube.com/shorts/tmJdbfdQC4E. I think you'll like it. It explains Canadians. It defines Canadians. Pass it along to family and friends and even maple maggots that you unfortunarely know.

I watched it and loved it! ❤️ I’ve seen videos from this guy before, and he’s great! I am sending this link to everyone I know. Thank you! 🤗

vieux loup's avatar

Great! Carpet bomb your people.

vieux loup's avatar

Woo Hoo!!! Keep it up. Send the link to pee pee just to piss him off.

How are we going to track their wine sales?

I no longer have any interest in the plight of the poor US people. They created this nightmare and they don't seem interested in taking responsibility for it or getting off their butts and doing something about it. I know it's not all but it's far too many. They don't care at all about what their decisions have done to hurt Canadians so I don't have much interest in what they've done to hurt themselves while trying to blame Canada for the shit show. I care about Canada and Canadians (true Canadians - not haters and liars like pierre and his Cons) and I will base my decisions on what is best for us, not the US.

vieux loup's avatar

They can't take responsibility for it. Thay're the victims of us nasty Canadians

Just boycott everything made in US. I know ow it easy for me to say, because I live in Portugal and I have no problem boycotting anything made in or by a company owned in the US. I even have an app to let me know what is EU made.

Rick Young's avatar

Put it back all you want. I have found alternatives I like, and will buy no American booze....or anything else for that matter if I can help it

The simpletons and their arrogance.

My question is - why did they not do a little work and go out and find new markets??

We did and lovin' it!

vieux loup's avatar

They probably did try to find new markets and discovered that the entire world hates them.

Steph_S's avatar

Exactly, the World Paid Attention & Watched CANADA Back the Frick away from the Former US which made all of them go WTF - It has to be Far Worse than we thought and If THEY Back Away like that we must pay attention... Many expected Canada to be "the nice little brother" and then Carney's Speech in Davos WOKE EVERYONE UP !

Then of course Magastan attacked all nations (even penguin islands) and POOFDAH !

Kay's avatar

The US is a country of consumers. The largest outside China. Let them buy their own US made products.

vieux loup's avatar

They'll run out quickly.

Marner 🇨🇦🍁's avatar

Okay bring it back but don’t promote. Back corner on bottom shelf. Stores need to promote Canadian products in highly visible locations! Over last couple months, I have found much better BC & ON wines that deliver right to my door!!!!

I will never buy American anything again!

Elbows up & let’s stick the middle finger to American politicians.

Carney is counting on us!!!

Rick Young's avatar

It's definitely up to us to make local retailers rethink their allotment of shelf space.

vieux loup's avatar

Something that moron doesn't seem to understand. How many Canadians go back to their product is irrelevant. The fact is that we have been disovering local and international alternatives that liquor boards have been stocking. The shelf space has been taken over by other and better products. When u. s. booze goes back on the shelf it's visibility will be greatly diminished as will the purchases from the provinces because of this. He wants things to go back to "normal". Welcome to the new normal Chris.

Mai Huynh's avatar

As per Saskatchewan news, California wines already got to bottom shelves (out of sight) because nobody bought them.

vieux loup's avatar

Woo Hoo! At least some of us in the province are doing it right.

Steph_S's avatar

New Normal does NOT include Magastan or whatever allies it has...

🇨🇦Proud to be Canadian🫂❤️🇨🇦

That Chris guy is true Maga, everytime the possibility of no deal is said and he makes the threats of 50% Tarrif instead of answering, what happens if his administration will not back down on it's original economic attack on Canada😂😂😂

"ELBOWS-UP"🫂❤️🇨🇦

vieux loup's avatar

Gloves off and over the boards.

Tmina's avatar

We still won’t buy it!

Michel Clement's avatar

Unlike the sheep mentality of Americans, we Canadians are FREE thinkers and make our own choices as to how we spend our money. The majority of Canadians will continue the boycott regardless of the booze being put back on the shelves. Being constantly treated like second class citizens by the U.S. government has left a very dark stain on our supposed close friendship and they are in for a real, in your face, reality check if and when it is put back.

Steph_S's avatar

FREEDOM OF CHOICE & FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION STILL RULE IN CANADA !

Everyone is Free to Choose WHAT THEY BUY and no "entity" can force or pressure anyone to buy something ! Some (not likely many) will buy some "select" Yank Booze but it will not amount to much and certainly not for years... WE HAVE LONG MEMORIES !

The BOOZE SHTICK IS ALSO A WELL COORDINATED DISTRACTION !!!

They want folks to pay attention to that issue and not the bigger issues where MAGA is trying to Maintain their PLUNDERING of our resources & minerals... They are also trying to force us to buy American Military Crap (which they can't even supply to themselves) that can be disabled/handicapped by the Yanx at a whim ! NO WAY HOSERS ! Booze is a Few Hundred Million a year while Military Crap, Minerals/Resources are Billions a year !

Everyday MAGASTAN jabs at Canada & Others and PISSING US ALL OFF EVERYWHERE ! You are ALONE IN THE SANDBOX and play ALONE ! It will take at least a Full Generation before any kind of "Relationship" with the former USA is reestablished for Canadians... WHEN Magastan Implodes into Anarchy & Civil Conflict, we will wait it out while on High Guard !

J&R's avatar

Bob Rae substack has an interesting article by Barry Appleton on it today...we have bigger worries than just booze.

He also has a podcast.

I am shocked to the core .

John Fisher's avatar

It will just become dust magnets on the shelves.

Heather Bennett's avatar

My boycott of all things American is still going strong. I will continue to buy Canadian first!

Mai Huynh's avatar

If the provinces have to put the US alcohol back in exchange for 0% tariff under 338 and reductions of tariff on steel, aluminum, auto, lumber, it'll be a cheap concession, because we all know that it won't do much difference if their alcohol is on or off the shelves. The news from Saskatchewan & Halifax have proved it.

vieux loup's avatar

He'll just find another reason to be a prick and break any agreement signed.

RuthF's avatar

There is a fantastic distillery up the road from me in Prince Edward County. They make Rum Whiskey and Gin. I buy from them and if we want wines we buy from Prince Edward County too. There's not a need to go back to American booze ever again. Bonus, we're helping a LOCAL business.

Steph_S's avatar

I've always been on Buy Local, Buy Regional & Buy National as a default priority when shopping... It's something I started doing some 30+ years ago and is "my default".

vieux loup's avatar

My default and ladder also.
